Tesla describes the Roadster thus: "The Roadster is the only production electric sports car in the world - a hand-crafted carbon fibre sports car that goes 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds."

No test vehicle was available for us to drive so it's impossible to tell you what the car feels like to drive and whether build quality is comparable with other cars in the £90,000 price bracket.

Verdict: An electric vehicle best suited to serious car collectors
